Quick Thought About Food

January 26
Made a huge stash of stir-fried veggies today, and did a little experiment cooking them in two batches. In the first batch, used the Old El Paso taco sauce mix my mom sent, and in the second batch, put a bit of salt, pepper, oregano and lots of cumin. The ready-made one is turned out a little more sauce-y, as I guess is to be expected, but otherwise they taste pretty much the same. Which is interesting, because the second batch doesn’t contain any maltodextrin (the primary ingredient of the sauce mix), nor monosodium glutamate (hey, is that msg?), or silicon dioxide or ethoxyquin (scary name). Here’s to eating all-natural and organic
