Little Jorge next door is screaming and crying and yelling “Abuela! Abuela!” (grandma) and it’s just about breaking my heart. Poor little kid is being raised by his grandparents and lives with them and their two teenaged kids. He gets lots of attention, helps them bring the cows out to pasture and such, walks down the street holding his grandpa’s hand, and has two parrots and two puppies to play with all day, so he’s treated better than most kids around here. But I still hear the way they scream at him sometimes and it just makes me want to get out of bed and give a charla.

PS – Today the parrot is yelling “abue-wa! Abue-wa!” The fun just never ends round here!
