Took a late afternoon walk today down to the river with my neighbors Kathy and Claudia. Both are now in school – high school and university, respectively – in other cities, so it’s a treat to have them back in town for the summer. And it was a treat to walk to the river, which usually I’m too lazy or it’s too hot to do. It wasn’t crowded at all, just a couple families and the usual pack of high school boys just hanging out. On Sundays it can be absolutely packed with hundreds of people and lots of beer, and occasionally a soccer game or disco. Note the scary see-thru bridge that my full-size bus has to cross to get to Horqueta!!
